Hi,my name is Dalong, my family and friends call me Dal for short. I was born deaf, but that didn’t stop me from doing the things I love to do. I’ve always been artistic and a hands on kinda guy. I fell in love with sushi when I tried it for the first time at my uncle’s restaurant. After graduating from high school I went to work at Honjin Sushi and worked there for over eight years, and what a great eight years that was. I learned so much, made lots of friends, and met all kinds of people.

When my health conscious step-mom and dad visited Hawaii and were introduced to “Poke” (pronounced poh-kay) by our Hawaiian relatives, they fell in love with this fresh, healthy, and delicious dish. So when life circumstances changed for them, my parents approached me with the amazing opportunity of opening up our own Poke Bowl restaurant. I couldn’t have been more excited about it. With my experience as sushi chef and their love of poke, we decided to open Dal’s Poke.
