Argentum Jewellery School & Supply

Argentum Jewellery School & Supply is now open in downtown Victoria, BC. Learn the art of traditional silversmithing through workshops, courses, studio space rentals and a supply shop.

Argentum is a silversmithing school and supply shop located in Market Square, the historic heart of downtown Victoria. With a commitment to preserving the art of traditional silversmithing, Argentum offers a selection of classes and workshops for every skill level, from beginner to professional, as well as other specialty workshops and events. We are expanding our course offerings to include more specialized and advanced techniques to cater to people in all areas of metalsmithing. We also offer private group and one-on-one lessons.

Our fully-equipped and supervised studio is available for bench rentals, where jewellers can work independently in a supportive community setting. We rent on an hourly basis, by bulk hour punch cards or by monthly memberships.

Argentum’s retail supply shop is a storefront and online shop providing quality tools, equipment, materials and gemstones.

Argentum opened its doors in early 2019 with the vision of becoming a central hub of silversmithing knowledge, instruction and supply for the metalsmithing community of Vancouver Island. Argentum owner, Honor Chapman, has been a silversmith and gallery owner in Victoria’s downtown core for over 20 years. Honor is the owner of Tonic Jewelry which is situated just above Argentum on the main floor of Market Square. She has brought her knowledge and understanding of the jewellery industry to life with her vision of filling a void in the area of silversmithing education on Vancouver Island. Argentum is the only jewellery school in the city, and one of only two locations on Vancouver Island that offers professional instruction in traditional silversmithing.
