Bubba Official

Unisex clothing brand that combines comfort and street style together

Bubba Official was created by two best friends and roommates, Sydney Lowe & Samantha Frketich. We got the name from our guy friends that would always call us “bubs” and “bubba.” The word felt friendly and a bit flirtatious and it wasn’t long before we were all saying it to one another. Flash forward to 2021, the word “bubba” has been generated into almost a “slang term” to call a significant other in your life. When we were researching the items we would use for our first launch, we really tried to find items that represented our tom-boy like style. We wanted to make sure our pieces were also original and can’t be found elsewhere in order to stand out so we made sure to add original artwork. We felt inspired by old 80’s and 90’s stripper signs and we ended up finding our “Bubba Figure” from that. She is placed on graphics and logos on our items and is the inspiration we turn to when researching and creating new stuff to drop. She represents a independent, strong, woman that also adds a little bit of spice. We wanted to make sure our brand was unisex due to us both being inspired by the fashion trends around us as being baggy and over-sized and both having multiple pieces from men departments as well. It was important to us to have a brand that reflected all aspects of us and was inclusive to everyone else as well. We currently run our business out of our apartment here in Vancouver and we are constantly working on our marketing strategies and social media to continue to grow our following, our viewers, and for our future ideas for future drops. We put our heart and soul into this and it’s something we are super passionate about and we hope you love it just as much.

We respectfully acknowledge our place of work is within the ancestral, traditional and unceded territories of the Xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) and səl̓ilwətaʔɬ/sel̓ílwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) and that we serve the Peoples of the many Nations throughout British Columbia.
