Flowerstone Learning Services was created by Lizz Alexander, PhD, and Sarah Davis, MA, RCC. We bring our educational psychology expertise to learning coaching, mental health counselling, and educational consulting services for students and educators.
As learning coaches, we work virtually with secondary and post-secondary students to develop and apply evidence-based learning skills to strategically navigate learning at school and achieve their goals. Sarah Davis is a Registered Clinical Counsellor who works with children, teenagers, and adults to take steps toward solving a problem and improving their mental health. Finally, we offer a range of consulting services drawing on our advanced research skills and experience presenting material in a variety of formats.
Flowerstone Learning Services was founded on Vancouver Island, one of the few places in the world where the flowerstone rock is found. Flowerstone is an igneous rock formed during volcanic explosions over 170 million years ago that created beautiful crystal flowers in the rock. We chose this name to recognize the place we are from and that sometimes effective learning needs both time and pressure in order to be successful, just like the flowerstone.
