Maybe we got unlucky but you can only rate what you experience. Staff weren't helpful to a couple of novice fishermen/ladies - we asked for some tips and lure suggestions whilst buying licences and equipment but got very short answers and the slight feeling we were just being nuisance tourists. The shop was empty whilst we were there so slightly puzzled as to why.

This store has literally almost everything, it's the quintessential rural general store, a throwback to simpler times. It's fishing section and knowledge is surpassed by none.

Really quirky shop. Lots of neat stuff if you're waiting for the ferry.

Friendly staff, willing to answer just about any question you could throw at them, and full of suggestions on what to visit in the area. A souvenir one-stop-shop, with the best selection of postcards in the entire region, and some great books on the history of the area. Fair gas prices. A fun stop if you're waiting for the ferry, and worth a peek even if you're not.
