Salt Spring Centre of Yoga

If you are looking for a sacred space to host a wellness retreat, attend a yoga getaway, or experience a tranquil overnight stay, then you’ve arrived! Sitting on 69 acres on scenic Salt Spring Island, the Centre is the Canadian west coast’s longest running spiritual and wellness retreat centre.

The Salt Spring Centre of Yoga is a non-profit yoga community devoted to the attainment of peace.

Inspired by master yogi Baba Hari Dass and founded in 1981, the Salt Spring Centre of Yoga is the oldest spiritual yoga and wellness retreat centre on Canada’s west coast. The Centre was built by Karma Yogis and continues to be run by staff and volunteers in the spirit of karma yoga (selfless service).

We offer programs including yoga retreats, yoga teacher training, weekly yoga classes, various workshops, and many other special programs.

We we also rent our facility to like-minded groups.

Set back from the main bustle of Salt Spring, our yoga center is a truly tranquil place to spend time going inward.

We have three indoor asana/practice spaces and a fourth seasonal space open during the warm months. Our cozy turn-of-the-century farmhouse is home to most of our guest accommodations. We have private and shared rooms (up to 3 people per shared room) and both en-suite and shared bathroom options. We have a small number of rooms in our Garden House, overlooking the temple garden and adjacent to one of our indoor asana spaces. In the summer we have campsite accommodations available featuring beautiful wooden out-door forest showers.

Here, the magic of our land weaves together with the stories of those transformed by it and the spirit of selfless service is sewn into every tiny detail.
