This Program is committed to providing safe and inclusive spaces and resources for 2SLGBTQQIA+ and IBPOC youth within the Okanagan.

“Sexual and gender diverse communities in British Columbia experience significant health disparities when compared to the general population. These disparities are rooted in long-standing social and cultural issues that have served to disadvantage these communities and perpetuate stigma and discrimination” (HEC, pg. 2, 2019).

At this time, This Space remains an online counselling service with the hope of transitioning into a physical location: stage one (see “the vision” on the website). Stage One will include a multidisciplinary team of mental health clinicians, Living Positive Resource center supports, sexual health nurses, Indigenous wellness Workers, a case manager, a business consultant and an HR specialist. All team members will work together for a holistic approach to the affirming care and support of all youth who attend the center.
